When looking at pure-breed Shih tzu's or or any parents you should always look at them not only face on but also a side view. A picture of a dogs back side or not showing their face and side view will show you nothing about the dog or the way they look.
You want to see the eyes in the photos you are looking at. Most of the time you can tell by the eyes if they are happy. If looking at a shih tzu mom make sure you look and see is she has a big under bite. Shih tzu's can have an under bite and that is part of the AKC standard, but you don't want a big under bite.

We are even more picky on the timing of the breeding because of the care each and every one of our babies receives.
