We must
first
look at
what the
word
OFFICIAL
means:
Authorized
by a
proper
authority

So when we look at the shorkie breed in general, we know it
has been bred for MANY years. We know the first known person who started to
breed them on purpose and place them into loving homes via the internet was
Stephanie White. Stephanie set the standard for the shorkie
breed that most breeders use today.
Stephanie was the only shorkie breeder to use the word
OFFICIAL, since she was the first online breeder for our wonderful breed.
Recently there have been new shorkie breeders using the words OFFICIAL SHORKIES.
In 2005 Stephanie started the Shorkie Club Of America, she
contact several breeders of Shorkies and formed the Shorkie Club Of America. In
2008 The Shorkie Club Of America started their own registry, the SCA.
Stephanie has kept all her breeding records for the shorkie
breed since 1990. The other members of the SCA has kept their records since
joining the club. All members submit their breeding records to the SCA
on a yearly basis.
The Shorkie Club Of America has the documentation for the
shorkie breed since 1990. The registry is the OFFICIAL registry for the SHORKIE
BREED.

SO WHEN
YOU TALK
ABOUT
SHORKIES
THE
AUTHORIZED
AUTHORITY
TO MAKE
THEM
OFFICIAL
IS THE
SHORKIE
CLUB OF
AMERICA..
So any member that has been approve by the SCA has official
shorkies. They can be registered with the Shorkie Club Of America Registry.
My question is the other breeders that are saying they have
OFFICIAL SHORKIES what makes them OFFICIAL?
I would like to know why they have not joined the SCA, it is
free.
Some of the requirements to be a member of the Shorkie Club Of
America is:
GENETIC TESTING ON EVERY ADULT IN THE BREEDING PROGRAM.
You must be a home breeder not a kennel,
Your vet to visit your home.
