Meet
our
wonderful
Maddie .
We
adopted
Maddie
when she
was 4
months
old from
a shih
tzu
breeder.
When we
adopted
her we
LOVED
her
color
(RED )
which
was hard
to find.
We paid
a pretty
big
adoption
fee for
Maddie
she has
multiple
champions
in her
pedigree.
We were
very
excited
when she
joined
our
family
and
breeding
program.

Maddie
was old
enough
to join
our
breeding
program,
so it
was to
be get
her
ready. We
thought
she was
100%
HEALTHY...
She had
completed
AND
PASSED
her OFA
testing.
Now it
was time
for her
to do
her bile
acid
test to
make
sure her
liver
was ok.
Since
most
regular
vets
office's
don't do
the bile
acid
test,
and our
regular
vets
dose NOT
do them.
I
took her
to the
Bradford
Park
Veterinary
Hospital
to do
her Bile
acid
test. Every
one that
saw her
fell in
LOVE
with
her.
They all
complemented
us on
her
color
and
loving
personality.
On
11-03-08
we
received
her bile
acid
results
and a
letter
from Dr.
Wittu/Bradford
Park
veterinary.
In this
letter
it
stated
Maddie
bile
acids
were abnormal.
Which
means
her
liver
was not
working
correctly.
The only
way to
tell is
by the
bile
acid
test. Maddie
will now
have to
be on
medicine
for the
rest of
her life
and it
will
most
likely
be a
short
one.
THIS IS
WHY IT
IS SO
IMPORTANT
TO MAKE
SURE YOU
BREEDER
IS DOING
THE
TESTING
THEY ARE
SUPPOSE
TO DO...
JUST
THINK IF
WE WOULD
OF BRED
OUR POOR
MADDIE,
WHAT
ISSUES
WOULD
HER
BABIES
HAVE
HAD??
WHAT
HEARTACHE
WOULD
THE
PUPPY
PARENTS
HAD TO
GO THRU
JUST
BECAUSE
WE DID
NOT CARE
ENOUGH
ABOUT
OUR
BABIES
OR
ADULTS
TO DO
THE
TESTING
THAT
SHOULD
BE DONE.
